Federal Funding Pause
Last night, the White House Office of Management and Budget issued an immediate freeze of federal grants, loans, and other financial assistance funds as of 5:00 pm today (Tuesday 1/28); explicitly exempting only Social Security and Medicare. You can view the memo here.
Also earlier today, the American Public Health Association, National Council of Nonprofits and other organizations filed a Motion for Temporary Restraining Order in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to block the pause.
We recognize the potential breadth and scope of the impact of this directive, especially in conjunction with the pause on federal communications. Like many of our NH partners, we are working to confirm the information and understand the implications. We will share additional information as soon as we know more.
